BARON design reference: describe the color, shape and decoration separately when making a request.

You have found a nail design you love, but you are not sure how to explain it in Japanese. Start with a short written message before choosing a booking menu. You do not need to translate a whole conversation at once: separate what you want, what you do not know, and what you need the salon to confirm.

Some BARON staff speak English, and translation apps can also help. Not every staff member speaks English. Ask about language support for your preferred branch and appointment rather than assuming an English-speaking artist will be available.

Put the branch and date before the design

Begin with the location, a date written with the month in words, and a time identified as Japan time. “November 12, 2026, after 14:00 Japan time” is clearer than “11/12 afternoon.” Replace this example with your actual dates.

If you have not booked, say “I would like to enquire.” If you already have a reservation, say “I have a booking” and include its name and date. This helps distinguish a question from a request to change an existing appointment.

You can start with:

“I would like to enquire about BARON [branch] on [date and time in Japan]. I speak [language] and do not speak Japanese. What language support is available for this appointment?”

Write one decision per sentence

Long messages can mix several different requests. A numbered list makes it easier to match each reply to a question.

  1. “I want to keep my current nail length. I do not want extensions.”
  2. “I like the pink color in image A.”
  3. “I want the bow on my left ring finger only.”
  4. “My current nail material is unknown. Photo B shows my nails now.”

These are examples, not a fixed menu. Replace them with your own needs. Avoid ambiguous shorthand such as “same but less” or “just like the other one.” Say which image, which finger and which detail you mean.

For help organizing the design itself, see how to turn nail inspiration into a clear request.

Label what the images mean

A screenshot of someone else's nails and a photo of your own hands serve different purposes. Label them “design reference” and “my current nails.” If you send more than one inspiration image, say whether the extra picture shows the color, shape or decoration you want.

Use “my left hand” and “my right hand,” not “the hand on the left of the picture.” Keep product names and booking-menu text in their original spelling when asking about them. A translation app's substitute word should not become a confirmed description of your existing nails.

Ask for clarification, not a faster answer

If a translated reply is unclear, identify the exact point instead of sending the same large message again.

  • “Does this mean no extensions, or no additional length beyond the reference?”
  • “Is that amount the total, including the removal we discussed?”
  • “Are you recommending this menu, or confirming an appointment?”
  • “Could you explain this term another way? I do not understand the translation.”

For menu wording, use the English guide to Japanese booking labels. If you already have gel or extensions, the removal booking guide explains the questions to ask without guessing the material.

Keep a short confirmation you can show at the visit

Once the salon has answered, summarize the agreed branch, date, start time, service, removal needs and estimated total. Note anything that still requires an in-person assessment. A readable summary is more useful than searching through many translated screenshots at the appointment.

“Have I understood correctly: [branch], [date/time in Japan], [service], [removal], and [estimated total]? Is anything still unconfirmed?”

A sent message, translated reply or menu recommendation is not by itself a booking confirmation. Ask whether the appointment is confirmed and follow the salon's booking instructions.

Send your first message to BARON

Copy and complete this short enquiry:

“Hello! I would like to enquire about [branch] on [date/time in Japan; alternative date]. I speak [language]. My current nails are [description/material unknown]. I would like [length and design]. I have labeled the attached photos. Could you advise the menu, estimated total and time needed, and language support available?”

Send it through official LINE or BARON's official Instagram DM. Name the branch in the message, even when using the shared LINE account. You can also read the BARON English salon guide before making your enquiry.
