Representative BARON long black and red nails with white raised flowers, gold-colored accents and clear stones
Representative BARON work with a repeated black, red and white palette. Friends can use a shared reference to choose one connecting color or motif while discussing separate designs. This photograph is one completed set, not two friends or a matching-nail package.

Choose what connects your sets

Matching nails can become a small souvenir of a shared Japan trip. You might want the same color in your photos while each keeping a familiar length, or two different designs linked by one tiny detail. Start by agreeing on the connection. You do not need to make every nail identical for the pair to feel intentional.

Pick one shared feature first: a color, a motif, a finish, or the position of an accent. Then let each person choose the remaining details. This gives the nail artist a clear theme without turning one friend’s preference into a rule for both.

Try one of these three design briefs

  • One color, two levels of detail. Both sets use a similar pink. One person requests a simple glossy look; the other asks about glitter accents. Compare the pink samples together, then confirm each design separately.
  • Reversed colors. One set has a dark base with a light accent; the other reverses that relationship. Use the same two-color reference, while allowing the accent size to change with each person’s nail length.
  • A shared small motif. Each person requests a heart on one chosen finger, with different base colors. Ask what size and version of the motif is workable rather than assuming a particular decoration is in stock.

These are starting points for discussion, not fixed BARON menu packages. Save one image for the shared theme and a separate reference for each person’s finished look. Label them clearly so a detail intended for one set does not accidentally become a request for both.

Keep length and service choices individual

Decide independently whether to keep your natural length or ask about extensions. A short rounded set and a longer pointed set can still coordinate through color. Trying to match length exactly may make the design less comfortable for the person who is unfamiliar with longer nails.

Also describe what is already on each person’s nails. One friend may have bare nails while the other needs existing product assessed for removal. Those are separate appointment requirements, even when the requested art looks similar. Our guide to booking with an existing nail set explains what information to provide.

Agree on two budgets, not one assumed price

Give a total budget for each person. Ask for separate estimates covering the proposed service, any existing-product removal, and requested decoration. Matching colors do not mean identical totals when the service or amount of art differs.

Before asking for estimates, each person can choose a must-have and a flexible detail. For example: “The shared blue is essential; I can simplify my accent nails,” and “I want my preferred length; I can use fewer decorative details.” This makes revisions easier without making either friend responsible for the other’s choices.

Confirm whether the timing works for both of you

Tell the salon whether you need simultaneous appointments, overlapping appointments, or simply appointments on the same day. Ask for confirmation of both bookings. A time available for one person does not establish availability for two, and matching start times do not establish matching finish times.

If spending the appointment together is important, ask about the arrangement before committing. Do not assume adjacent seating or space for a waiting companion. BARON is a women-only salon; confirm any questions about the planned visit directly.

Send a paired brief with separate details

“We are two friends interested in BARON [branch] on [date]. Our shared theme is [color or motif]. Person A wants [length, design, existing product, total budget]. Person B wants [length, design, existing product, total budget]. Do you have appointments for both of us? We prefer [same-time appointments / separate appointments are fine]. Please confirm the estimated total and appointment timing for each person.”
