Leave with information you can use at home
Your new nails may travel home with you, but your next appointment may be with a different salon. Before leaving Japan, collect a short record of what was applied and what follow-up the artist recommends. This makes the next conversation more useful than trying to identify the set from its appearance alone.
You do not need a complicated technical report. Aim for a few accurate written details, clear photos, and a contact route. Ask the artist to confirm anything you are unsure about rather than filling gaps with a familiar term such as “acrylic.”
Record the service and product information
Ask how the salon describes the system actually used on your nails. BARON’s main extension method uses full-cover tips, which differ from traditional liquid-and-powder acrylic. Your take-home note should describe your own completed service rather than assume that a general menu name tells the whole story.
Ask for product or system names if the salon can provide them, especially information relevant to professional maintenance or removal. Keep names in their original spelling. A translation app can help explain the surrounding note without changing a brand or product name.
- Date and BARON branch where the set was applied
- Service performed and the system or product names provided
- Whether extensions were applied, and on which nails
- Any retained product from a previous set, if applicable and confirmed
- Decorative details the next salon should know about
If an item is unknown, write “not confirmed.” An honest gap is more useful than an incorrect material label that another salon may rely on.
Ask for a follow-up plan for your actual itinerary
Tell the artist when you leave Japan, when you return to work, and where you expect to arrange the next appointment. Ask what professional maintenance or removal they recommend for your particular set and when you should contact a salon to arrange it.
If you need bare nails by a certain date, bring that deadline into the discussion now. Confirm the removal service separately rather than assuming a follow-up appointment will be immediately available at home. For removal before departure, our removal booking guide explains how to describe the set and desired finish.
Do not interpret an estimated maintenance interval as a promise that the set will stay unchanged until that date. Ask what changes should prompt an earlier contact and which instructions apply to the products actually used.
Check with your next salon before assuming a refill
Send the relevant service information to your home salon when asking whether it can assess the set. Be clear about what you want: professional removal, a new set, or advice about maintaining the existing application.
Information from BARON can support that assessment, but it cannot guarantee another salon’s compatibility, technique, or willingness to work over existing product. The next provider may need to inspect your nails before deciding which service it can offer. Ask about this before reserving a menu that assumes a refill.
A useful enquiry is: “These nails were applied at BARON in Japan on [date]. The salon described the system as [confirmed information]. I have photos and would like [requested next step]. Can you assess this set, and what appointment should I request?”
Save photos and the right contact route
Take clear photos of both hands after the appointment, plus a side view that shows the length and raised details. Keep them with the service note and confirmed appointment details. The photos document appearance; they do not replace accurate product information.
Ask whom to contact if you have a question after departure and what information to include. Do not assume that another branch, a different salon, or a provider abroad is covered by the original appointment’s correction arrangements. If any after-service support is relevant, confirm its conditions directly before relying on it.
Use this final checklist before you leave
“Could you help me note what system was used, what professional maintenance or removal you recommend, and what I should tell my next salon? I leave Japan on [date]. Which contact should I use if I have questions about this set?”
Keep the BARON English guide bookmarked. For questions about your visit, use official Instagram DM or LINE, with your branch and appointment date. This handover supports a clearer conversation; it is not a guarantee of future wear, service compatibility, or treatment.
