Looking for a nail salon in Ikebukuro, but unsure which options to choose on a Japanese booking page? This guide explains the labels you will see when checking BARON’s menu, how to distinguish salon extensions from removable nail tips, and what to include in a short booking enquiry.

BARON is a women-only nail salon. The “全員” (all customers) label covers eligible customer categories and does not change the salon’s women-only policy.

This is an English reading guide, not a promise of English-speaking staff or an English reply. If you need communication support, ask what is available before confirming an appointment.

BARON specialises in gyaru-style nails, bold nail art and added length. If that is the look you want, bring a reference image and decide what matters most to you: the colour, the length or a standout decoration.

Start with the right type of nail service

  • Gel on your natural nails: choose a gel service when you want colour or art without adding length. Tell the salon if any nails need separate attention.
  • Salon nail extensions: choose an extension service when you want added length. BARON’s main extension approach uses full-cover tips fitted as part of the salon service. These are not removable press-on tips for taking off at home after an outing.
  • Removable press-on tips: these are separate products you buy and attach according to their instructions. For these, use BARON’s nail-tip shopping and order guide, rather than booking a salon extension appointment.

A Japanese menu may use “スカルプ” or “チップ” for an extension service. Do not assume this means acrylic or removable press-ons. Check what the selected service includes.

Useful Japanese labels on the booking page

Open the official BARON Ikebukuro menu on Hot Pepper Beauty. Look for these labels when choosing a menu:

  • 新規 — new customers. Read the eligibility conditions; do not assume you qualify simply because this branch is new to you.
  • 全員 — available to all customer categories. Other conditions and service limits still apply.
  • 利用条件 — eligibility or usage conditions. Check these before choosing a coupon.
  • 長さ出し — adding nail length. Include this if you want extensions, rather than selecting colour or art alone.
  • 付替オフ / 付け替えオフ — removal before a new set. This is for removing existing gel or extensions as part of a replacement appointment.
  • オフのみ — removal only. This does not mean removal followed by a new design.
  • 空席確認・予約する — check availability and book. Check the selected service and removal options before choosing a time.

If you already have gel or extensions, say so. If you do not know what was used, describe it as unknown rather than guessing a removal category. A time shown as available may not fit every combination of removal, extensions and art.

Send a short enquiry if the menu is unclear

Use this example to organise your request. Replace the brackets with your details; it is not a confirmed booking.

English: “I would like to book BARON Ikebukuro. My preferred date is [date] at around [time, Japan time]. I would like [gel without added length / nail extensions]. I currently have [gel / extensions / nothing on my nails]. My budget is [amount] yen including removal and extras. Could you tell me which menu to select? Please also let me know what language support is available.”

For a design reference, say which part you like: the colour, shape or decoration. You can use “この画像の色が希望です” for “I would like the colour in this image.” A reference photo does not guarantee identical materials or results.

Before you finish booking

  • Confirm that the branch is 池袋店 — Ikebukuro.
  • Check the full date and time in Japan time, especially if you are travelling from another time zone.
  • Check the total price, including removal and any extras, on the current booking page or with the salon.
  • If you have plans afterwards, state the time you need to leave. A course label alone is not a guaranteed total visit time.
  • Read the change and cancellation conditions shown for your booking, then keep the confirmation.

Do not treat a LINE enquiry or a preferred time in a message as a confirmed appointment. If the booking form requires information you cannot provide, ask the salon how to proceed rather than entering invented details.
